How We Fund

The Foundation makes the majority of its grants by invitation. We nonetheless welcome thoughtful introductions from organizations whose work aligns with our mission.

Eligibility

Who we support.

We fund registered nonprofit organizations, accredited research and academic institutions, and mission-aligned entities operating under fiscal sponsorship. We support work globally, with a concentration in our four focus areas.

We generally do not fund individuals directly (outside our fellowship programs), political campaigns, sectarian religious activity, or requests that fall outside our stated priorities.

04

Mission alignment

Work that sits squarely within one of our four focus areas.

Making an introduction

How to reach us.

We do not operate an open online application portal. Organizations whose work aligns with our priorities may share a brief letter of inquiry (no more than two pages) describing the work, the leadership, the outcomes sought, and the role the Foundation might play.

Letters of inquiry may be submitted through our contact page. Given the volume we receive, we are able to respond only to those we wish to explore further, typically within eight weeks.
