About the Foundation

Founded on the long view.

The Odegard Foundation is a nonpartisan private foundation established in 2019. We advance ideas and support institutions in pursuit of a healthier, more resilient, and more humane world.

Our mission

Ideas and institutions, backed for the duration.

We support efforts to advance healthcare education, preserve the environment, improve lives and livelihoods, promote the safe development of artificial intelligence, and make the philanthropy sector more effective.

We bring an investor's discipline to grantmaking and an institution's patience to the timeline. We measure ourselves not by capital deployed but by outcomes delivered.

Architectural composition representing the Foundation
“Endowed wealth carries an obligation: to act with the rigor of those who built it and the humility of those who will inherit its consequences.”
— From the Foundation's founding charter
Governance

How we are governed.

The Foundation is overseen by a Board of Trustees responsible for mission, strategy, and the stewardship of its endowment. Day-to-day operations are led by an executive team across our two principal offices. An independent investment committee oversees the endowment under a long-term, mission-aligned mandate.

We are committed to transparency in our grantmaking and to the highest standards of fiduciary and ethical conduct, consistent with Swiss foundation supervision and applicable regulation in the jurisdictions where we operate.
